UCN Interest Groups
The Unitarian Church North Fellowship Committee organizes activities throughout the year and all are welcome to join. Participating in an area of interest is a good way to get involved and to meet people in the community. This past events have included “Pajama Sunday,” a reception after the Christmas Eve services and a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Events are posted on this website, The Northliner newsletter and the weekly Friday Flyer email news announcements. To receive a copy of the Northliner, or to join our Friday Flyer email list, please Contact Us.
Below are descriptions for the UCN Interest Groups.
See the UCN Interest Group Schecule on our Events page.
- Book Group
Book group meets once a month at the church to discuss selected readings. Please see the calendar for each month's selection.
- Choir
If you enjoy singing with a group, please consider joining UCN's choir. In addition to providing much appreciated music for a number of Sunday services throughout the year, you'll have the opportunity to sing with the combined choirs of the seven Southeast Wisconsin Unitarian Universalist Congregrations (SEWUUC) at ChoralFest, which takes place annually in February. The choir rehearses on the first Thursday of the month from 7:00-8:30pm, and the third Saturday morning. No audition needed; all are welcome! If you are interested in joining please contact Twila Bergeron at 414-228-1061.
- Guy Breakfast
Join an informal men's group for breakfast and conversation on the last Friday of every month at 8:00 AM. This group gathers at Glen Cafe, which is located at 6823 N. Green Bay Avenue in Glendale, on the corner of Green Bay and Green Tree. Please contact Mike Arnow at 414-390-3739 if you have any questions.
- Ladies Lunch and Levity Society
Meet for lunch and conversation the second Monday of every month at noon. This group meets at the Mequon Fiddlehead's.
- Science and Religion Group

- Mindfulness Meditation Group
The weekly Mindfulness Meditation group is an informal gathering of men and women interested in meditation and mindfulness. Beginners welcome and encouraged; you don't have to "sign up" ahead of time or commit to coming every week. We sit in meditation, do a walking meditation, and perhaps read aloud and share reflections on a passage about mindfulness in our everyday lives.
