Building Rental

UCN is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association and has been a voice for liberal religion in the north shore since 1963; people of all ages, racial and cultural identities, sexual and affectional orientations and religious backgrounds are welcome here. We are open to inquiries from any individuals or groups whose purposes are not incompatible with the principles of Unitarian Universalism.

Unitarian Church North is an appropriate and attractive setting for meetings, workshops, parties, concerts, weddings, commitment ceremonies, retreats, and other events. The visually appealing church, designed as an octagonal barn and set on eight acres amid native plantings, offers a simple and adaptable interior.

The church makes available meeting rooms, a gathering space, sanctuary, and fellowship hall. Kitchen facilities are available in conjunction with the fellowship space. A building addition completed in 2006 provides an elevator and meeting room space. All spaces and restrooms are handicapped accessible and close to entrances. Free parking is available on site.

Weddings and Commitment Ceremonies

The open and welcoming sanctuary seats 175 to 200, and
has excellent acoustics. The grand piano may be used. If you require use of the sound system, our technician is available. Package prices allow you use of the sanctuary, gathering space and dressing rooms for weddings and commitment ceremonies. The use of the fellowship hall is included in a package for events which include receptions.

Memorial Services

A package for Memorial services, with use of the gathering space, sanctuary and fellowship hall is also available; the piano and sound technician
are again included.

Receptions, Recitals, and Parties

The fellowship hall on the lower level provides space for 150, or 100 if seated at tables. Rental of the fellowship hall includes use of the kitchen. Use of the grounds adjacent to the fellowship hall, with a large lawn area, children’s play yard and gazebo can also be scheduled.

Meetings, Retreats, and Workshops

In the new space, the Emerson room, a pleasant space with many windows, will seat 40 in theater style or 25-30 at tables. On the lower level, the Clara Barton room will seat 30. Multiple smaller rooms exist for break-out sessions.

Tenant Options

All spaces listed above are also available for long term tenants. This would include such tenants as day care centers, elder care centers, adult education classes, etc.

If you would like to see the spaces, please contact the office on Tuesday or Thursday mornings. You are also welcome to visit on Sunday morning and attend a service ( 9:30 from mid June to September; 10:30 the rest of the year.) The church is not available for rental on Sunday mornings.
